✨ MARION BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: BELENOS CREATIONS ✨
What started with a love of technology, a little curiosity, and a practical need for another local business has grown into one of downtown Marion’s most unique creative shops. 🏙️✨
This week, the Marion Business Spotlight is shining a light on Belenos Creations, locally owned by Justin Malone.
📍 Located at 141 East Center St., Suite 100, Belenos Creations officially began in October 2024. What started as a way to create branded merchandise and other custom items for Justin’s other business, Busy B Cleaning Service LLC, quickly turned into something much bigger.
Justin has always enjoyed technology and learning how things work. When 3D printing started becoming more popular, he wanted to try it for himself and see what they could create.
At the same time, Busy B needed shirts, promotional products and other branded items.
The thought was simple:
Why pay someone else to make these things when we could learn to make them ourselves?
And that was really the beginning of Belenos Creations. 🖨️
They started purchasing equipment and learning different processes, initially to create things they needed for Busy B.
But once Justin discovered what the equipment could actually do, the possibilities started expanding.
“One machine led to another, then another process,” Justin explained, “and before long we were making things that had absolutely nothing to do with cleaning.”
People started showing interest in what they were creating and buying some of the products. Eventually, it became obvious that this could become its own business.
And today, that little experiment has become a downtown Marion storefront filled with creativity. ❤️
🐉 SO, WHAT WILL YOU FIND AT BELENOS CREATIONS?
The short answer?
A little bit of everything.
Belenos Creations offers:
🖨️ 3D-printed creations
👕 Custom apparel
🎨 Personalized products
🥤 Cups & tumblers
🎁 Gifts
🧸 Collectibles
🏠 Décor
🎃 Seasonal items
✨ And plenty of other unique creations
3D printing is a big part of the business, and the selection is constantly changing.
You might find articulated animals, dragons and toys one visit, then come back a few weeks later and discover completely different collectibles, décor or seasonal creations.
Justin says he doesn’t want the store to ever look exactly the same.
He wants customers to walk through the door and think:
“Okay, what did they make now?” 👀
💡 FROM AN IDEA TO SOMETHING YOU CAN HOLD
One of Justin’s favorite parts of the business is custom work.
Some of his favorite projects begin when someone walks through the door and says:
“I have this idea, but I don’t know if you can make it.”
Those are usually the fun ones.
And that’s one of the things that makes Belenos Creations different.
They don’t simply order products from a distributor, put them on shelves and resell them.
A large amount of what customers see in the store has been made, customized or finished by Justin and his team.
That gives them the freedom to experiment.
Have an unusual idea?
Bring it in.
As Justin says:
“The worst thing that can happen is I tell you we can’t do it. But there’s also a pretty good chance I’ll say, ‘Let me see what I can come up with.’” 😄
🖨️ THERE’S A LOT MORE TO 3D PRINTING THAN PUSHING A BUTTON
One thing customers are often surprised to learn is just how much work can happen before a 3D-printed item ever makes it onto the shelf.
It isn’t always simply a matter of downloading a file and pushing a button.
Depending on the project, there can be:
💻 Design work
📁 File preparation
🎨 Choosing materials and colors
⚙️ Setting up the printers
🔧 Troubleshooting
🧩 Assembly
✨ Finishing
And some prints can take hours—or even days—to complete.
Customers are also often surprised by just how much can actually be created with 3D printing.
Once they see the size, detail and variety of the pieces in the store, they quickly realize there is a whole lot more to 3D printing than they may have imagined.
❤️ GROWING WITH MARION
Belenos Creations may still be a relatively young business, but Justin is proud of how quickly it has grown.
In less than two years, the business went from an idea and some experimenting to a storefront in downtown Marion filled with things they have created.
But some of Justin’s proudest moments aren’t necessarily the biggest accomplishments.
They’re the little things.
When someone walks into the store and says:
“I’ve never seen anything like this before.”
When a customer comes back and brings a friend or family member because they want to show them the store.
Or when someone trusts Belenos Creations with a custom project and Justin gets to see their reaction when the finished product is revealed.
Those moments mean a lot.
🤝 MORE THAN JUST CUSTOMERS
When asked what he enjoys most about serving the Marion community, Justin’s answer was simple:
Getting to know people.
At a local business, customers aren’t just order numbers.
You start recognizing people.
They come back. They bring their kids. They bring friends. They tell you what they’re looking for. Sometimes they simply stop in to see what’s new.
Justin also appreciates seeing local businesses support one another.
“There’s a lot of talent in Marion,” he said. “I think our community is better when locally owned businesses work together instead of always looking at each other as competition.”
And that spirit of supporting other local businesses is something he believes in.
Marion has supported Belenos Creations, and they want to give that support back whenever they can. ❤️
🛍️ HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT BELENOS CREATIONS?
Of course, shopping local is always appreciated—but Justin points out that you don’t necessarily have to spend money to support a small business.
You can:
👍 Follow their Facebook page
📲 Share their posts
👀 Tag someone when you see something they might love
🗣️ Tell your friends about them
⭐ Leave a review if you’ve had a great experience
💡 Bring them your ideas for custom creations
And, of course…
Come check out the store!
Because there is a lot more inside Belenos Creations than could ever fit into one Facebook post.
🚀 JUST GETTING STARTED
It’s pretty remarkable to think that Belenos Creations wasn’t originally created with the goal of opening a retail store.
It started with technology.
A practical need.
A willingness to learn.
A little experimentation.
And then one idea led to another.
Today, Justin can look around a downtown Marion storefront filled with things they’ve created and see just how far that original idea has come.
But he doesn’t see this as the end of the journey.
He feels like they’re just getting started. ❤️
So the next time you’re downtown, stop into Belenos Creations and see what they’ve been making.
And if you have an idea that you’re not sure can be made…
Go ask Justin.
You might just hear:
“Let me see what I can come up with.” 😉
